Who is the organiser & host?

Hi, I'm Emma Veiga-Malta; artist, designer & creative business mentor at The Creative Business Hub.

I have 27 years' experience running creative businesses in Europe & Australia. My design business has clients globally & my mentoring program has members in Australia, USA & New Zealand.

My philosophy is simple: life & business as a creative need to FEEL good.

I advocate for a life where creativity & business co-exist, allowing you to lead your dream life. I am very anti-hustle 'n grind.

After living 12 years in Geneva, Switzerland, followed by 12 years in Sydney, I now call Gerringong home. The south coast stole my heart!

It's long been a goal of mine to host an event tailor-made for creatives by creatives. And it's here!

When and where is the event?

Thursday 30th July 2026, 9:30am-4pm at The Pavilion, Kiama (on the NSW south coast, just 90 minutes south of Sydney)

I don't have a creative business - is this event relevant to me?

Yes, this event is designed to spark ideas & give practical strategies to amateurs & hobbyists, as well as more established creative businesses.

You don't need to have an official business to gain valuable insights about money, creative confidence, the role of AI and how to showcase your work online (to name but a few of the topics we will cover). You will also gain immensely from spending the day with fellow creatives.

Plus, you never know what seeds might be sown for you during the event....you may even feel called to start offering your work for sale or start a creative side-hustle.

I am an established creative in business - will I learn anything new?

Absolutely yes!

Often we can get stagnant in our business, and get stuck in a rut, doing the same things over and over.

Having new perspectives will boost your motivation, encourage you to find new solutions to old problems and help you discover fresh ways to work, create, market & sell.

Maybe you've neglected your own creative self-care over the years, and you're close to burning out. This event can help you find balance & joy again among fellow creatives. Think of the connections & networking opportunities this event will bring.

If you identify as a creative in any sense, whether curious, amateur or professional, we have topics & conversations that will surprise, entertain and educate you.

You may be a soloprenuer, a freelancer, a sole trader, run a company, a shop or a market stall. Whatever your creative practice looks like, The Creative Business Summit will offer valuable insights, tools, strategies & inspiration to take you & your work to the next level.

Will food, drink & refreshments be provided?

Yes - we will be offering tea & coffee on arrival at 9:30am. A light buffet lunch will be provided. We will have a range of vegan, gluten free & vegetarian options too. Afternoon tea is also provided. Tea and coffee will be available throughout the day.

Please let us know if you have any medical food allergies or intolerances (eg celiac) so we can cater for you. Be mindful of any food allergies & intolerances you may have. While every effort will be made towards labeling, we cannot be responsible for your individual needs.

Can I get a refund if I change my mind, or can't make it?

Sadly, we are unable to refund a ticket but we will gladly transfer the ticket to another person. Please get in touch with support@thecreativebusinesshub.com

I'm coming from out-of-town: how do I get to Kiama, where can I stay?

Kiama is just 90 minutes south of Sydney, on the M1 motorway. Parking is provided at The Pavilion, with street parking nearby. A train runs hourly from Sydney Central to Kiama station, which is on the same street as The Pavilion.

We will be releasing a comprehensive PDF guide to getting there, parking, accommodation, must-see places, and other practical information. Sign up for the Early Bird ticket Waitlist using the button on this page, and we will send the PDF in early 2025.

I need more information about the venue.

The Pavilion in Kiama is located on the clifftops overlooking the famous lighthouse, a stunning beach & the ocean. You may even spot whales in the bay, as Kiama is a favourite resting & playing spot for them in August.

You will be wowed by the location, which I feel is a crucial component in making the day a successful & memorable one.

The Pavilion is a short walk from the center of town and the railway station. There is on-site parking, and nearby street parking too.

The venue is access friendly with ramps & a lift. Hearing Loop access is available for those with hearing aids or cochlear implants.

Everyone is welcome at The Creative Business Summit and I hope the event attracts a vibrant mix of creatives from all walks of life, gender, identity, cultures and abilities. The event is a safe, zero-tolerance space.

The 2026 event has been created with advice from a professional Diversity, Inclusion & Accessibility consultant.

The venue is access-friendly with ramps & a lift.

'Quiet' tables towards the back of the room, next to the exits are available on request.
You are not required to sit still for the day: doodling, knitting, walking around or stretching at the back of the room or taking extra breaks are encouraged. You are free to learn in your best learning style.
Registered service animals welcome. Please let us know to welcome them.
Support person tickets are available on request at no extra charge.
This is a safe space. People found to be violating our policies or values will be discreetly asked to leave the event & venue.
