Who is the organiser & host?

Hi, I'm Emma Veiga-Malta; artist, designer & creative business mentor at The Creative Business Hub.

 

I have 26 years' experience running creative businesses in Europe & Australia. My design business has clients globally & my mentoring program has members in Australia, USA & New Zealand.

 

My philosophy is simple: life & business as a creative need to FEEL good.

 

I advocate for a life where creativity & business co-exist, allowing you to lead your dream life. I am very anti-hustle 'n grind.

 

After living 12 years in Geneva, Switzerland, followed by 12 years in Sydney, I now call Gerringong home. The south coast stole my heart!

 

It's long been a goal of mine to host an event tailor-made for creatives by creatives. And it's here!

When & where is The Creative Business Summit being held?

Thursday 14th August 2025 at The Pavilion in Kiama. Doors open at 9:30am. The day ends at 4pm.

Who will be attending the event?

The Creative Business Summit is aimed at visual and performing artists, along with small business owners.

We will be attracting both amateur & hobby creatives, and more established creative professionals.

We expect an 80% local turn-out, with 20% of attendees coming from further afield or even interstate.

 

Your sponsorship and support will also be visible to our speakers, who are experts in their field and influential within their own networks and communities. We have a 50/50 split between locally based speakers & those from around Australia.
 

What is the expected reach of the event's marketing activities?

Marketing will include social media and newsletters sent by the host company, The Creative Business Hub run by Emma Veiga-Malta. We will encourage our speakers and ticket holders to share the event too. 

 

Further promotional activities will include local FB groups, regional print media, What's On guides, Create NSW, Business Events NSW, Visit NSW, Destination NSW,  local radio, podcasts interviews & flyer distribution around the south coast region.

 

We will also be notifying art societies along the south coast and into the southern highlands.

 

Our major sponsor, Kiama Municipal Council, will  be promoting the event through their networks, database & platforms. Our partner, South Coast Arts will also be promoting the event through their networks, database and platforms. 

 

We hope to make a lot of noise and raise awareness of The Creative Business Summit, which will lead people to view the web sales page & follow the event on social media. Ticket sales are expected to be robust due to our wide-net marketing and promotional activities.
 

How many tickets will you sell?

As this is the first time we have held The Creative Business Summit, we are unsure how many will attend. However, we expect 50-100 attendees. At the time of publication (April 2025) 50 tickets have been sold.

Do I need to promote the event?

Yes, I would LOVE you to shout about being a sponsor at The Creative Business Summit 2025.

I will be sending out a small media pack with some graphics & suggested text which you can share on your socials/newsletters along with the relevant links, hashtags etc. 


I will also be offering sponsors a discount code to share with your audiences to buy tickets.

 

If you host a podcast or guest blog spot, I would be happy to be interviewed or submit content relevant to your audience in relation to the summit.

What do I need to provide you?

Now : Please send your company logo and short (250 word) About Us blurb to emma@thecreativebusinesshub.com as soon as possible. 

 

Include any links to your website or socials too.

By 14th July : for Gold sponsors, you will need to provide an A4 1 page PDF for inclusion in the event booklet. This is your place to showcase your business  & give a QR code to your website.

 

I will be in touch with more details in early 2025.
 

Can I attend the event?

Ideally, yes! We would love to have you mingle with the attendees, speakers and be an integral part of this inaugural event in Kiama.

Gold sponsors get 2 complimentary ticket; Silver sponsors receive 1 complimentary ticket each.

 

Will food, drink & refreshments be provided?

Yes - we will be offering tea & coffee on arrival at 9:30am. A light buffet lunch will be provided at 1pm. We will have a range of vegetarian & diary-free options too. Tea and coffee will be available throughout the day.

 

Please let us know if you have any medical food allergies or intolerances (eg celiac)  so we can cater for you.

I'm coming from out-of-town: how do I get to Kiama, where can I stay?

Kiama is just 90 minutes south of Sydney, on the M1 motorway. Parking is provided at The Pavilion, with street parking nearby. A train runs hourly from Sydney Central to Kiama station, which is on the same street as The Pavilion.

We will be releasing a comprehensive PDF guide to getting there, parking, accommodation, must-see places, and other practical information. 

I need more information about the venue.

The Pavilion in Kiama is located on the clifftops overlooking the famous lighthouse, a stunning beach & the ocean. You may even spot whales in the bay, as Kiama is a favourite resting & playing spot for them in August.

You will be wowed by the location, which I feel is a crucial component in making the day a successful & memorable one.

The Pavilion is a short walk from the center of town and the railway station. There is on-site parking, and nearby street parking too.

The venue is access friendly with ramps & a lift. Hearing Loop access is available for those with hearing aids or cochlear implants.
